Commerce Bank and W.T. Kemper Foundation Undergraduate Outstanding Teaching Award

Four Commerce Bank and W.T. Kemper Foundation Undergraduate Outstanding Teaching Awards are presented each year university-wide. One is made annually in the College of Arts and Sciences; the other three awards alternate among six of the other colleges. The Carl R. Ice College of Engineering receives this award on even-numbered years.

The recipient is selected using similar criteria as for other engineering undergraduate teaching awards, which includes the following:

  • Innovation in course development, laboratory development, and classroom instruction;
  • Well-respected by students and colleagues; and
  • Demonstrated competence and enthusiasm for classroom/laboratory instruction.

Current recipient

Ronald Brockoff Ronald Brockhoff

Ronald Brockhoff, teaching assistant professor in mechanical and nuclear engineering, is a 2022 recipient of the Commerce Bank and W.T. Kemper Foundation Undergraduate Outstanding Teaching Award.

  • He currently teaches Computer Applications in Mechanical Engineering and Measurement and Instrumentation. He also has taught Elements of Nuclear Engineering, Interdisciplinary Industrial Design Projects I, Interdisciplinary Industrial Design Projects II, and Applications in Mechatronics.
