Robert I‐Jen and Sophia Shui‐Kan Jung Graduate Scholarship in Engineering

Background and Purpose

The Robert I‐Jen and Sophia Shui‐Kan Jung Graduate Scholarship in Engineering was established by Robert I‐Jen, M.S. ME'68, and Sophia Shui‐Kan Jung to support Kansas State University, the Carl R. Ice College of Engineering and graduate students.

This scholarship recognizes outstanding engineering graduate students from the People's Republic of China, or PRC, and the Republic of China, or ROC. Award levels are $6,000 per year for doctorate students and $3,000 per year for master's students.

Eligibility

An applicant for this scholarship must be an admitted full-time or current full-time student in good standing within a Carl R. Ice College of Engineering on‐campus graduate program. Master’s students must be in the thesis option. Recipients of this scholarship must be citizens from the PRC or ROC. The scholarship is for one year and can be renewed once during a degree program. Previous scholarship recipients will need to reapply for the second year of the scholarship. 

Application Process

Applications for this scholarship will be collected in March of each year. Funds will be awarded for the fall semester of the upcoming academic year. 

The materials noted below should be submitted in PDF format to ergp@k-state.edu by March 1.

  1. Jung Graduate Scholarship in Engineering application form.
  2. Curriculum vita including academic history, publications, presentations, awards and honors, professional services and professional experiences.
  3. Letter of recommendation from a major professor or department head of a current K-State graduate student, or a professor/supervisor/K-State faculty member if the applicant is a new incoming student.
  4. Transcript.
