Bailey Sullivan is an assistant teaching professor for the general engineering program, serving as professor and adviser for first-year students who have not selected an engineering discipline. She manages the general engineering program including curriculum development and management of advisers, and teaches courses that provide students with the tools and skills needed to be successful in engineering. 

Sullivan holds a Ph.D. in biological and agricultural engineering from Texas A&M University, and master’s and bachelor’s degrees in biological and agricultural engineering from Kansas State University. She has taught engineering courses at three other universities — Texas A&M University, Iowa State University and the University of Arkansas.

Jennifer Thornburg is retention coordinator for the Academic Success Center. She advises new freshmen and transfer students in general engineering, and serves as instructor for the Engineering Student Success seminar, providing academic support for students in general engineering. She also coordinates and organizes retention-based programs offered in the college including Scholars Assisting Scholars tutoring and Women in Engineering.

Thornburg is a graduate of Kansas State University with bachelor’s degrees in nutrition and kinesiology. She is currently pursuing a master's degree in counseling and student development at K-State.
